"I have used this product for years. One year the boat was in the water for 2 seasons, before being pulled and cleaned, had installed 3 coats. After the standard power washing it looked great. This is on a sailboat in the Upper Chesapeake, if I were in a higher salt content area I would probably go to the 67."

"I just finished re-coating my steel hull houseboat with this product and I am very pleased with the results obtained. This coal tar epoxy was easy to apply when thinned 10% and we easily applied it with a roller. This is a quality product at an excellent price, you will not find a better deal anywhere."

    Armada Original Satin

    Item Name: Armada

"I have used this product to great advantage on Teak outdoor tables and chairs. After three years the furniture has not grayed out. Maintenance is straight forward with spot sanding and touch up coats. I've used it on truck stake bed stakes as well. It weathers very well. I am currently experimenting with it as a patio deck wood preservative. So far so good."

    Awesome!!!

    Item Name: Marine AC 70

"Aluminum boat bottom and outer sides. Scratching/removing most paint is always the toughest job. Two coat brushed on finish (one coat after another; immediately after finishing first coat) worked fine and looked good. Up close, one could see "brush marks". It appears your finish will be excellent for the purpose intended....protection. Salt water "pits/erosion" were simply painted over. Larger pits were filled with JB Weld."

"I was refinishing a 1966 Century inboard that was going to be used as a weekend boat--trailered, not left in the water. I was after a high gloss black bottom finish. Even though the paint is TOP SIDE, I sprayed it on the bottom and it truly was like looking in a mirror. very satisfied with product."

    Bottom Paint Review

    Item Name: Copper Shield Hard

"This is the third year I have used this paint. Great value, no build up. Looks traditional and has no growth here in New England. My Catalina 42 uses about 2 1/2 gallons and I have her scrubbed in the water every two months in the summer. Love the product and value."

"First off I want to say what a pleasure it has been purchasing from this company. I made a mistake in ordering the wrong topside paint. The company covered my mistake to make me, the customer happy. I am in business and know good service. This is a company to trust and buy paint from!!. Now the paint. This is a very good quality epoxy paint. I was able to cover my boat bottom in one application. I did put a second application on to make the boat look good. The paint mixed well, went on with ease, and made my boat look like new. The paint dried as stated and clean up was easy. For the price I don't know what else you could ask for. Quality, Service, fast dependable shipping. I'm working on another project boat and for sure will buy again. Don't worry about buying paint online this company will stand by what they sell. Very happy customer."

    Best Buy Out There

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"Not sure why I remembered this, but I thought that I would do a quick follow up on the bottom paint I used in 2012. I have a 30' S2 built in 1982 and it is sailed on Lewis and Clark Lake, a lake created by a dam on the Missouri River near Yankton, SD, and in the water from about late May to the end of September. My haul out was three years ago this past September when I stripped and re-painted Windfall's bottom with two coats. My observations this past September were that there was maybe 10% to 15% algae on the bottom, mostly on the rudder and towards the stern. I normally do not have the bottom power washed, but wait until the spring launch to take a stiff brush and sweep down the hull. My feeling is that the bottom paint will easily make it through its 4th year before I make the decision to touch it up or re-paint. Great product, Blue Water!."

    Bottom Looks Brand New

Item Name: Bottom Protect High Build Epoxy Primer

"I just purchased a 1986 Bayliner Trophy boat and the bottom had dark blue antifouling paint that was peeling on the bottom. After I sanded it down to the white fiberglass the I applied two coats of your epoxy and two coats of the antifouling paint. I used a paint roller. The bottom looks brand new and the boat looks great. This is the first time I have ever tried this procedure. I'm very pleased."

Blue Water AC 70 For Steel

    Item Name: Marine AC 70

"We are located in the western Caribbean and use this paint on 3 of our boats. Whenever we haul the boats out annual inspection we always get the same response, "When did you paint your boat last time". The other boats are constantly in and out for the water for bottom painting while we do it once every 2 years. We do clean the bottom of the boat in the water at least twice a year just to break down the algae that collects as our marina water is where the salt mixes with fresh water from the mangroves."

"I have a 1972 aluminum Star craft boat. It gets a lot of use in some rough areas. Knowing this I did not spend a lot of time prepping the surface except to clean it for adhesion. The coverage of your paint was amazing! One coat looked great, two coats looks a ton better than I was expecting. Great product at a very good price. Thank you!."

    Copper Shield 45 Ablative

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"This Bottom paint is great. 25 years ago I used National Paint to our Offshore Old exploration ship and it always held up to the salt and seas. So I tried this bottom paint for the 27' sail boat. I prepared the surface that had a lot of other bottom paints attached. Scrapped it and lightly sanded it. I rolled this paint on and one gallon was just enough to cover the bottom with two coats. They were average thickness and it looks great. I recommend this paint."

Copper Shield Hard - Full Season Modified Epoxy - 45% Copper

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"While it goes on a little different than the Interlux product I have used previously for many years, Practical Sailor rated it very high and I thought I would give it a try. Keep your edge wet and use a medium to long hair roller. I will be using more of it, I think the product so far is very good, goes on well, and a great value. I'm anxious to see how it lasts, that will be the true test, but looks like it will last as well an much more expensive products. I usually do several boats a year."

Copper Pro SCX - The Best!

    Item Name: Copper Pro SCX

"Went on nicely.. "Sea Wolf" looks a LOT better with a Blue bottom than the former Black bottom.. I finally (for the first time) saw 13.5Kts on the GPS after the boat was splashed, taken out for a sea trial, with all systems warmed up and full forward throttle.. (Cummings Turbo Diesel at 150 Hp, max with 130 Hp, Max Cont. on a 26’ Nordic Tug..) Glad to have done business with you, thanks for the discount, and the shipping came as you described, on time and in time for the local boat yard to apply the SCX67 without going into ’lay days€™... Again, I€™m very happy with your product and your company.. you can be sure I€™all recommend you to my friends around Annapolis... Gordon."

    Excellent Product

Item Name: Mega Gloss Polyurethane Enamel

"After painting boats for 30 years this is definitely the best. I soda stripped the bottom 5 years ago on my Catalina 42, then 6 coats of barrier, 2 coats of black Blue Water hard paint and then 2 coats of the New England red. Now she is power washed every fall take out and a little black is showing. After a light 60 grit sand, I paint the black spots, water line, hull leading edge , keel and rudder with one coat. I then thin the paint some and paint the entire hull one coat. Takes about a gallon and a third. A July scrub and she is clean the entire season with no paint build up. This is the best."

    First Use

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"I've been using Copper Shield for 5 seasons now. For the money it really is the best buy out there. I'm anchored in the Hudson and between the barnacles and grass the bottom can get pretty bad during the season. I don't use the boat a lot but at the end of the season I still have a very clean bottom. I highly recommend this paint."

    Good Paint

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"First time used this paint and so far I'm very happy with it. Fall cleaning of the bottom was easy with a pressure washer, paint still looked very good after 5 months in the water, and even at the water level which was scrubbed on several occasions still looked good. Only problem was that I under estimated the coverage. Paint being used on a house boat."

Item Name: Armada Original Translucent Wood Finish

"I have been using Armada Original Translucent Wood Finish Satin for a number of years on my antique 1938 cabin cruiser that has solid teak walk around decks on each side. I tried other products, but none of them compared to the Armada product. Recently I purchased the same finish to treat the cedar planking exterior on my home that had become gray and faded. It came out great and my neighbors are giving me compliments on the improvement it made. I would post pictures here if I could."

"With very aggressive pricing and the recommendation of a trusted sailing friend. I have 2 gals for my Catalina 30 that is sailed 6 months of the year on Long Island Sound. iPaint now taking over for the Interlux Micron CSC, ePaint, Pettit, and all the stuff I have tried before. I will not really know how well it works until I have seen the growth season, cleaned the bottom a few times, and pulled the boat next October. Ordering, customer service, cost and shipping (Acquisition cost) has been fantastic so far so even if just as good as the others....I think a new reoccurring customer has arrived!."

The time of use is longer than other tars, and that gave good time to do large area. The finish is matte, ready to be over coated. All over a very good product, and I will not hesitate to buy more. Mega Gloss Topside 1 part

Item Name: Mega Gloss Polyurethane Enamel

"This was my first time using this product, I was very pleased with the application. The product was very easy to apply and covered better than expected. I purchased one gallon and was surprised that I finished the entire boats midsection with less than half a gallon. now I have plenty of paint for the engine compartment also. Mega gloss exceeded my expectations. Thank you."

"The name says it all. The stuff looks wet even after it is dry. I'm on my third coat after sanding between coats and it rolls on very smooth and thick. I'm applying this paint to a fiberglass/epoxy plywood boat. Time will tell how well it holds up. All I can do is hope for the best."

"I love this paint, the cost is good and it has lasted for three seasons in the water. The first year I hauled all that was needed was a power wash and I was back in the water, same for the second year and this year I will haul and sand and repaint. Very good product.."

    Paint Review

    Item Name: Copper Pro SCX

"This has been the most effective anti-fouling paint (traditional high copper content) I have used. I keep my full keel sailboat on the Potomac just up-river from the Bay at Kinsale, VA. Excellent product, shipped immediately in very sturdy packaging at a favorable price. Good stuff."

"It seemed to go on well. I put 2 coats on each pontoon. Then 3 coats of Shelter Island bottom paint on each pontoon. It looks really good. I have not put it back in the water yet so I hope it works as well as the other reviews."

    So Far So Good

    Item Name: Copper Pro SCX

"Bought this paint 2 1/2 years ago and have mostly had boat sitting still in the worse coastal fouling area. Just this month diver said "time to repaint." Got the same stuff again. Would be a fool not to. Not applied yet but waiting at the boatyard where I had it drop shipped. Great stuff at amazing prices. West Marine should be ashamed."

    Sky Blue Polyurethane Quart

Item Name: Mega Gloss Polyurethane Enamel

"This is my second purchase of this inexpensive bottom paint formulated for New England. I use it on the bottom of my Pearson 26 which is moored in Rhode Island. The boat spends 7 months in the water and is sailed a lot. Very little hard growth ( a few barnacles which I can remove with a finger) remains after an annual power wash of the bottom. I scuff up the bottom with a sanding sponge, use a roller to apply the paint (two coats on the keel and rudder, one on the rest) and a gallon does it. Works as well or better than the bigger name brand paints costing two and three times as much. Works for me."

    Very Good Paint & Service!

    Item Name: Copper Shield Hard

"Long story short, went through Amazon for this paint to save a few bucks (15.00). After 4 failed attempts in 1.5 months to get me this product with any paint left in the cans because of shipping damage I went to IPaint. After 4 days I come home and here it is, safe and sound. These guys are pro's. The old saying "you get what you pay for" believe in it. But make no mistake, IPaint is cheaper than most for this product. I am going to paint the boat tomorrow and write another review. I am sure it will be the same. Way to go guys, you have my word of mouth advertising to ALL my boat friends."

    Video

Item Name: Coal Tar Epoxy Primer

"I've kept my sailboat in the same marina for 26 seasons--brackish water where a river meets the ocean. Never had a problem with barnacles, but slime, grass and brine shrimp are a major dilemma. I've used ablative paints with biocide and copper content up to 30%. Nothing stopped the growth. I had to start diving down to clean in July and every three weeks thereafter. If I let it go I would lose a knot of speed by September--under power--and by October the rudder was stiff and the boat would barely move.

A few years ago after reading a review in Practical Sailor I tried the Blue Water paint with 45% copper. It worked better than other paints and I decided to try their 67% copper paint even though I've been told by a metallurgist sailor that copper content has little to do with slime control. Well, iPaint threw in the booster for free so I mixed it in per the instructions, and I don't know if was that that or the copper, but my sailboat's bottom was as clean as it's ever been at the end of the season. Even after a couple of weeks of inactivity, the grey fuzz covering the sun-exposed rudder just needs to get moving at 5 knots or so and I can again see the blue paint exposed once again. I don't have to dive down at all any more. I was so pleased that I bought next season's paint in October!

I know this is a multi-season paint, but so far I have been too chicken to go a year without re-painting so I can't report on that. I once tried skipping a year with Trinidad (which is also high copper content and multi-season) and it did not end well.

I highly recommend this paint. Although it's not cheap, when you take into account the full-season performance and savings on cleaning the bottom mid-season, it's a fair price."

    Great Product Blue Water!

    Item Name: Copper Shield

"The copper stayed suspended in the paint well.(didn’t have to constantly stir while applying the paint). Went on over the old ablative easily and seemed to bond well. Looks good on the boat. We sail in fresh lake water so will have to see how well it keeps the slime off when the boat is pulled next fall but so far love the paint and plan on adding an additional coat next year."
